Political Poop

Local politico Ann Mcfall stated recently when asked about, the seemingly popular and effective, early voting sites in Volusia County, she liked them as a voter but as a politician she disliked them because she may send out literature to people who have already voted. Our recently ousted election chairman Deannie Lowe stated, it makes it hard for polititians to get a handle on when to peak.

These comments once again serve to illustrate how the voting public is viewed by the political machine and its unwary victims (those people who get into politics for whatever reason). They, the victims of the machine begin to look at the voter as a number and the oh so important reason they got into the race in the first place is many times swept by the tide of trying to win the race. You start hearing the candidates speaking of earned money instead of stating issues, while it is true that the candidate with the most money tends to win races, this is only because they have a advantage in swindling the voters with their message. The candidates think of us, the voter, as a commodity to be won or paid for. It would really be a wonderful candidate who would go out on the street spend very little and mount a grass root campaign by doing novel things such as telling the truth to everyone and not fitting the message to fit the meeting. A candidate such as this would be seen by many voters as a man of integrity and may just create a following of people who don't necessarily agree with his views.
